THE NEW YORK TIMESThe New York To Paris Auto Race of 19081908/1968 -- The NEW YORK TIMES published extensive original coverage for the 5 months duration of the Race in 1908. They also published a special 60th Anniversary Edition in 1968. This coincided with the Transcontinental Reliability Tour run that year by the Veteran Motor Car Club of America. SAE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS & EXPO -DETROIT The Great Race: Recollections of the Winner 1992 -- The S.A.E Congress and Exposition hosted a "first person" presentation by Jeff Mahl, the Great-grandson of George Schuster Sr., driver and winner of the 1908 New York to Paris Automobile Race. With nearly 1,000 attendees, members and their families traveled back to the turn of the century and relived the incredible adventure.
